Registration is open, our room block is open, and preparations are underway for our 8th annual Motor City Dance Classic. 

Registrations are already coming in and we will have to cap our numbers to make sure there is plenty of room for everyone so don't hesitate to register if you are coming.

Our theme this year is "The Wizardly World of Motor City".   

Come dressed as your favorite Wizard, Witch, Warlock or character from that famous series. 

Prizes will be awarded for best costume!  Each event director will be the head of one of the four houses. 

You will get to select which house you want to belong to when you register or you can let the sorting hat choose. 

This is just a fun way to get into the theme and does not affect where you have to sit or dance or anything like that. 

We have an awesome line up of instructors this year 2023.  John Robinson, Rona Kaye, Jill Babinec, Jamie Marshall, Lynne Martino, Tina Foster, Debi Pancoast, Rob Holley,  Kerry Maus, Jill Weiss, & Derek Steele. 

Joining our teaching staff for the first time this year will be Trevor Thornton, Kelly Cavallaro and Chris Jacques.

Our DJs are JP Potter and Michael Diven.

We will offer three classes each hour with a dedicated beginner room. 

Friday & Saturday night we will have two ballrooms for open dance. 

Our anything goes Main Ballroom and our all request beginner/improver room.

MCDC will once again be held at the beautiful Somerset Inn in Troy, Michigan. 

Located at 2601 West Big Beaver in Troy, Somerset Inn is a beautiful hotel and convention center located in the heart of Troy's shopping district.

Somerset Inn offers two types of rooms.  Tower Rooms.  These are located on floors 3-14. 

They contain either one queen bed or two double beds. 

Our room block price for these is $119 per night.

The other type of room is the Executive Room. 

Executive rooms are located on the first two floors and are slightly larger than Tower rooms. 

They are available with one king bed, one king bed w/ a sofa bed, or two queen beds. 

Executive rooms also have a refrigerator.  Our room block price for these is $149 per night. 

If you want a King room with a sofa bed please call the hotel direct to book your room. 

The online reservation system does not delineate between a king and a king with a sofa bed.

Please note the hotel does charge for a third and fourth person in the room, so just be careful what you tell them.

Please don't wait to book your room as there are only so many of each room type available. 

Our room block price is good for three days before and three days after the event. 

To book your room before or after the event you will need to call the hotel direct.  Online booking doesn't allow coming in early or staying late.

This year we will not be offering any food options. 

The hotel has an onsite restaurant and back by popular demand the hotel will be offering grab and go food for breakfast and lunch. 

The hotel is also located next door to the beautiful Somerset Mall, which occupies both sides of Big Beaver Road. 

You can use the covered walkway to get to the other side where there is a wonderful food court. 

There are also restaurant options on both sides of the mall as well as a few within walking distance.  For those who drove there are almost 50 restaurants to choose from within 2 miles of the hotel.

We will have vendors onsite, massage services, our Chinese auction and so much more.

If you are flying in we do arrange shuttle services for attendees at a nominal fee.

Click on “Check Rates”.

Then click on “Add Code”.

Then click the drop down on Discount Code and select Group Attendee.

In the box below Group Attendee enter Group Code 564.

Then select ADD.

It will bring up the SteelMill Dance Productions, LLC Room Block.

Click “Select & Go to the next step”.

Select Your Dates.

Click “Update dates of stay”.

At this point you will be able to select the room type and continue making your reservation.
